Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026 · Version 1.0

Finer Pal ("we", "us", "our") operates the Finer Pal platform at finerpal.com and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use our website, mobile experiences, NFC devices, and APIs.

1. User accounts

When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). We use this information to authenticate you, manage your subscription plan, and provide dashboard access. Account data is retained while your account is active and as required by law thereafter.

2. NFC profile cards

Your digital profile may include your name, job title, biography, phone number, profile photo, and social links. This information is displayed on your public profile page when someone taps your assigned NFC device or visits your profile URL. You control what you publish through your profile editor.

3. Device taps

When someone taps an activated Finer Pal NFC device, our API records a tap event before redirecting the visitor to the profile owner's public page. Tap logging helps profile owners understand engagement and is part of our analytics offering on paid plans.

4. Leads collection

Visitors may submit contact details through lead capture forms on public profiles. Lead data (name, email, phone, company, message) is stored and made available to the profile owner. Profile owners are responsible for how they use lead data and for complying with applicable laws when contacting leads.

5. IP address collection

We collect the IP address of visitors who trigger NFC tap events. IP addresses may be considered personal data under GDPR and similar laws. We use IP addresses for security, fraud prevention, and approximate geographic analytics.

6. Country collection

For NFC taps, we derive country information from IP addresses using a third-party geolocation service. Country data is stored with tap records to provide analytics breakdowns by region.

7. City collection

Where available from geolocation services, we store city-level location associated with NFC taps. City data is used for analytics and is not guaranteed to be precise.

8. ISP collection

We may store internet service provider (ISP) or network organization information derived from IP geolocation for tap analytics and abuse detection.

9. User agent collection

We collect browser and device user-agent strings during NFC tap events to understand how visitors access profiles (e.g., mobile vs desktop) and to improve compatibility.

10. Contact forms

When you contact us by email or through forms on our platform, we process the information you provide to respond to your inquiry. We do not use contact form data for unrelated marketing without consent.

11. Cookies

We use strictly necessary storage (including local browser storage for authentication tokens and consent preferences) to operate the service. Optional analytics and marketing cookies are disabled until you provide consent through our cookie banner. See our cookie consent tool for category details.

12. Analytics

First-party analytics include NFC tap counts, geographic breakdowns, and lead metrics. We do not currently integrate third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics). When optional analytics consent is granted, we may enable additional measurement features in the future — always subject to your consent choices.

13. Marketing communications

We may send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, order updates). Marketing emails are sent only where permitted by law and, where required, with your explicit consent. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

14. Data retention

Account and profile data is retained while your account is active. Tap analytics and consent records are retained for operational and legal purposes, typically up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law or legitimate business need. You may request deletion subject to our verification process and legal obligations.

15. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data. You may withdraw consent for optional cookies and marketing at any time. To exercise rights, contact us at privacy@finerpal.com.

16. Account deletion requests

To request account deletion, email privacy@finerpal.com from your registered email address. We will verify your identity and delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
